Complaint Letter Sample
Write a letter of complaint if you have paid for goods or services that did not come up to your expectations. When you write a letter of complaint, remember these writing tips.
- be factual and precise. Say exactly what the problem is, and how it is contrary to your expectations.
- don't use sarcasm or emotional language. Use a neutral rather than angry tone.
- be clear about what you want to happen. State how much compensation you want.
- be polite and avoid threats unless you want to take legal action.

Hello,
I made a tool designed to help learners of English write emails for various purposes.

It is no substitute for learning how to write good English by oneself, but if you are just learning and need to write simple emails without spending too much time, it may be useful.

Duvets plc wrote to Blankets plc on 1 April offering to sell various items of machinery for £18,000. The letter included the following statement:
‘A notice in writing of your acceptance of this offer must be received by the sales director no later than 14 April.’
Blankets plc decided to accept the offer and posted an acceptance on 8 April. The managing director of Blankets plc also rang to speak to the sales director of Duvets plc. The sales director was out of the office and a message was left with Cilla, his secretary, confirming Blankets’ acceptance of the offer.
By 15 April Duvets plc had not received the letter and Cilla had not told the sales director of the telephone call. The machinery has now been sold to another customer.
how Blankets plc writing legal position letter
How the company writes the letter depends on the laws in that country. For situations like this, I'd recommend you get a lawyer to write the letter, to make sure the letter complies with the relevant legislation.
I want a sample of how to reply to guest complaint letter (hotel) that they are unhappy of our services. Please help me.
What you write depends on the complaint, and what you are prepared to offer the unhappy customer. Start by acknowledging the letter: Thank you for your letter of (date) in which you brought (the complaint) to my attention.
Then go on to say what you are doing about the problem. Perhaps you need to make further enquiries (and then say you'll get back to the customer) or you can explain the situation and offer the unhappy customer something as compensation.
