Responding to thanks
Saying "Please" and "Thank you" are an important part of what we consider to be polite language. But it's also important to be able to respond graciously when someone thanks you - even if what you have done is part of your job and doesn't technically require thanks.
In many languages, "thank you" is answered by the equivalent of "no need to thank" or "no thanks", but both of these sound strange in English.
Instead, try these phrases to acknowledge thanks:
"My pleasure."
"You're welcome."
"I'm glad I could help."
"I'm happy to help."
