Introducing people
There are a range of ways to introduce people, in both formal and informal situations. Here are some common phrases you can use:
Informal
John, have you met Carla? She's our department secretary.
John, meet Carla!
John, this is Carla. Carla, John. He's our printer technician.
Neutral
John, I'd like you to meet Carla. She looks after all the travel and hotel arrangements.
John, I'd like to introduce you to Carla, our secretary.
John, I don't know if you've already met Carla…
John, let me introduce you to Carla.
Formal
May I introduce you to…(my husband)?
Please allow me to introduce you to ….. (my husband).
Introducing your colleagues to clients
I'd like to introduce you to my colleagues John Smith and David White. John is our account manager, and David is our Production Director.
I'd like you to meet our sales team. Sarah, Danny and Lucy work in the schools market.
Introducing your colleagues in a presentation
(…. I'll be talking to you about the present market conditions.) Then my colleague Mark Le Tizier will present some of the most exciting new products in our range. Finally, our sales director, Julie Gooding, will wrap up the presentation with an outline of the company's sales strategy.
